News at the Ranch June 10, 2019

The 100s are here!  And, as usual, we complain…like we don’t know it gets like this every year!  McGavin Ranch is an 55+ active community, but remember to keep yourself hydrated, and change  your schedule to do activities in the mornings or evenings.

It’s Bunco week!  This Wednesday at 5pm the fun starts.  I’m going to try to attend.  Its fun, can get rather exciting, and you might win some money!  It only costs $5.00 to play.

Friday, June 14 is Flag DayIt’s a day to fly your flag, celebrate the meaning, origin, and the country it represents.

June is also the month to honor our Fathers.  Father’s Day is June 16, and McGavin Ranch is having a Gentlemen’s Dinner on Saturday, June 15.

I continue to speak with our residents about their decisions to live at McGavin Ranch, the 55+ active community.  One lady told me of her and her husband’s retirement.  They sold everything they owned, bought a new car, and took off for Mexico!  They explored, and lived at the beach for 3 years.  They decided they needed a home, and California was too expensive to live, so they started exploring Arizona.  One place took the lady’s heart, but would not allow fences to be built, and they had 3 dogs at the time.  So, on with their search.  She googled 55+ active communities, and up popped McGavin Ranch!  They took off one weekend to visit the Ranch, fell in love, bought a home, and love it!  They appreciated they could fence their yard if wanted, that it was an active, gated community, and it felt like home.  That was over 2 years ago, and they remain very happy and comfortable here.

I have always loved the desert, and wanted to live here at retirement.  My husband had lived in one city his entire life, so it was a challenge to convince him to leave his home to live in the desert.  We looked for almost 1 1/2 years.  He decided its not green enough in Arizona, and couldn’t do it.  Every place we looked at would not allow fencing, or looked like a “trailer park”, and we couldn’t find the “home” feeling.  Then I found McGavin Ranch.  We flew down here and stood on the front porch of a house.  My husband said “look, its the same street number as our home now, this must be the place!”  He liked the feeling of the community, the ability to do what we need to do to make this our home, and we’re still here!  We both like the quiet, safe, neighborhood feeling of McGavin Ranch.

Hopefully, you’ll be able to find a new home here at the 55+ active community of McGavin Ranch when the time comes!  We’d love to have you as a neighbor!
