I hope everyone had a great Independence Day! I was not at our 55+ Active Community of McGavin Ranch, and it was quite noisy where I was!

Still in the 100s and sunny this week!  Weathermen must have a boring job here!  Sunny and 100s, sunny and 90s…

In this active 55+ community there is water aerobics starting up again this week with Gloria, our wonderfully  fun instructor!  It’s at 1:15 on Wednesday. Nice way to cool off, and get some exercise and socialization into your day! Come join the class. If you have Silver Sneakers with your insurance, the class is free, otherwise there is a nominal fee.

Saturday is the Community Coffee where you can learn of the current happenings at McGavin Ranch, have a cup of coffee and a donut!  It’s at 9:00 in the Clubhouse.

I thought tell you about a few things in and around our Community and Mesa. There are quite a lot of things around our park, which makes it easier to live in our 55+ Active Community.

Superstition Springs Mall is just about 7 minutes from the Ranch, with a lot of shopping and dining choices.

Superstition Ranch Farmers Market has 3 locations around the Ranch. One is in Mesa, one in Apache Junction, and one on south Power Road. It’s a great place to buy fresh fruits and veggies all year round.

A fun place to visit, especially with grandkids is the Goldfield Ghost Town just 11 miles from our Ranch outside Apache Junction. There is an old time Main Street, a museum, a gold mine (where you can pan for gold), narrow gauge train ride, and the gunslingers!  You can even arrange to have your grandkids, kids, spouse or friends arrested and thrown in the Goldfield Jail by the Goldfield Sheriff!  Goldfield was a booming town with the gold rush in the 1890s, but the gold soon ran out.
And the Mesa Market Place Swap Meet is a great place to get those items you really don’t need, but have to have!  A fun place to enjoy some casual exercise, fun recreational shopping, and even entertainment and food!  There are over 1500 vendors, and it’s open Friday, Saturday, and Sundays.
Have a a good week!   Kathi McVern
