Warm up to the Christmas season in Prescott, the city that knows how to “do” Christmas!

Leaving the Valley of the Sun, the scenic route to Prescott meanders through the Prescott National Forest and Prescott Valley. Enjoy panoramic views of the Black Hills, Mingus Mountain, Black Mesa, and the Verde Valley.

Prescott is an absorbing town for all types of travelers. There is an old fashion sentiment of decorated Christmas tradition around the Courthouse in the downtown square of this friendly community.

This “mile high” town pronounced “Preskit” is the historic first capital of Arizona.

Prescott was built to resemble a Midwestern USA church town with a Courthouse as the center attraction on the town square. Prescott has been dubbed “Everybody’s Hometown”, because most people find something here that reminds them of where they grew up. Prescott is characterized by its downtown Courthouse Plaza, famous historic Whiskey Row, World’s Oldest Rodeo, and Sharlot Hall Museum. It has been officially designated as “Arizona’s Christmas City”.

We make a stop at The World’s Largest Gingerbread Village, in the lobby of the Prescott Resort and Conference Center. This annual Whimsical Village of over 100 houses delights young and old.

See the fun and festive Christmas parade, and afterwards enjoy downtown Prescott with over 80 shops and restaurants. At 6pm, the official lighting of the courthouse occurs. This event is eagerly anticipated to mark Christmas season.

Later in the evening, ride the motorcoach through the Valley of Lights driving past holiday scenes made of lights, through tunnels of snowflakes and remember the unbridled joy of the holiday season that thrilled you as a child. This unique animated and artistic light display is spread over a one-mile drive through Prescott Valley’s Fain Park.

Dress accordingly, as the lighting ceremony is outside.
