At the Ranch. April 22, 2019

It was a busy weekend at the active 55+ community of McGavin Ranch!  The estate sale and yard sales throughout the community were a huge success!  So much so, the residents that missed it last weekend have a chance to do it this coming Saturday April 27 starting at 7am.

Coming up this week on Wednesday evening is the McGavin Ranch WII Bowling Finals!  There is a lot of excitement surrounding this event!  WII Bowling is a very popular event in this active community. There will be pictures and winners listed next week.

On Mondays at the Ranch is the popular game of Hand & Foot. I captured picture of ladies starting to play last week. I’ve heard it can be loud and rowdy!  Some of our residents returned to their summer homes elsewhere in the country, which affects attendance at some of the activities at the community.

An activity that occurs weekly in this 55+ community is the Strength and Balance Class on Wednesday.  It helps keep our bodies agile and flexible, to help reduce the risk of falls.  Our Instructor Gloria always manages to include some fun in her classes.  Gloria also conducted water aerobics classes in the summer and  hopefully  this will return this year!  Another advantage of these classes is Silver Sneakers will cover the cost.  Silver Sneakers is usually included with your Medicare coverage.  If not, the cost is minimal.

Water Volleyball is happening regularly again on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at our 55+ community.  It always draws a huge crowd, and gets quite active!  I’ll include pictures on the next posting.

May 4, and every first Saturday of the month is the date for a Community Coffee to discuss the new happenings around the Ranch, and discuss other needs or concerns the community or management may have.  Drinks and donuts, muffins, or other goodies are served.
